Samsung is all set to take center stage at the upcoming Lollapalooza for the music festival’s 25th anniversary, as they have just announced that they will be bringing a handful of different VR-focused products to the event so as to let those attending enjoy multiple different VR experiences, including hands-on time and interaction with devices like the Samsung Gear VR, the Gear 360 Camera, and more. This will be a four-day weekend event, and of course, Samsung is giving VIP access to those who do attend and also own a Samsung Galaxy smartphone, so if you happen to fit both of those criteria, you’ll be able to check out a host of cool VR experiences at the show.
Samsung states that the experiences will be held at two different places. One is their very own location on the event grounds called appropriately, The Galaxy Lounge, and inside event-goers will be able to enjoy “surprise appearances and pop-up performances,” as well as meet and greets that include the latest Galaxy technology. Event-goers will need to have a Galaxy device to get VIP access to the Galaxy lounge. The other on-site experience is called VR-Palooza where attendees can experience anything from VR activities including streaming music performances live from the Samsung stage, to fun and games using the Gear VR which will include a 4D VR surfing game, and their will even be some giveaways included, although there is no details on exactly what those giveaways would be for.
In addition to treating those at the music festival to some unforgettable experiences with VR, Samsung is also going to be making the Gear 360 camera available for purchase at the event, but only in limited quantities and only on site at the festival for now. The cost for the Gear 360 camera will be $349.99 if you happen to be interested in buying one at the show and are one of the lucky ones who are able to get a hold of it before they’re gone, and following Lollapalooza Samsung mentions that they will have more availability information on additional Gear 360 camera supplies in the future. Lastly, Samsung has also made Samsung Pay vending machines available on site, where those who have a compatible Samsung Galaxy device and purchase items from them by using Samsung Pay will earn rewards exclusive to the festival.
