Each and every month tons of Android applications make their way into the Play Store in hopes of being discovered by users, and on the flipside users are searching every month for new apps to either help make their lives easier or to enhance their experience on their devices in some other way, whether it be entertainment or productivity. With so many Android apps hitting the Play Store every month, it can be challenging to find ones that might be worth your time and consideration, and if you find yourself coming up against that very dilemma, we’ve rounded up ten apps in the list below that are worthy of checking out.
Sunshine
Kicking off this list is a weather app called Sunshine and was a popular offering on iOS. The app currently states that it is available in Canada only at the moment, which is a shame, but it is coming to other countries like the U.S. soon, and definitely looks like it’s worth the wait. It has a slick interface with a personalized weather forecast that greets you every morning, as well as a real-time weather overlay on a realistic looking sky map.
Messenger for Pokémon GO
It shouldn’t be too hard to figure out the beauty behind this little offering, as it’s meant to be a way for Pokémon GO players to communicate with each other in-game so they don’t have to exit out of it. The design of the app fits the style and interface design of Pokémon GO which makes it all the more smooth, and it uses a floating bubble design so it can be closed up and easily accessible again at any time. It also offers chat that is location-based just like the game, and you have options for team chat as well.
Lux Manager
This particular app will only serve a purpose for those who have smart Samsung lighting devices, but for those that do, this app lets you control the different settings and levels with a few simple taps. You can control the brightness as well as apply different color schemes and even set up sleep timers so they turn off when you want them to.
Walli – Arty & Cool Wallpapers
Much like the name says, this app provides you with tons of wallpapers for your device that are artsy and have a unique artistic look to them. Many of them come from a community of top artists and you can either browse through them or search by popularity.
Coastiality VR
If you’re always on the lookout for a new VR app to enjoy with the Google Cardboard viewer, check out Coastiality VR which lets you explore awesome new worlds and take virtual roller coaster rides.
Tasmana
If you’re someone who likes to stay organized and you are consistently creating tasks to help you get the job done, Tasmana just might be able to help doe the job a little better than your current app or tool. Create groups for specific tasks and invite those who are going to be collaborating on them with you, and separate them out into categories so you know which group is for what task.
Sortd
Following on the path of organization, Sortd aims to help you keep your to do lists and emails organized and easily accessible in one simple to use application. The app lets you slide between lists with a swipe gesture and of course you can add tasks or read emails. It also lets you drag and drop items to organize them by priority.
Bitly
Bitly is all about shortening links and this is the official Android app of the website that does the very same thing. It lets you create short links right from the app just as you could one the website and it lets you track your clicks. If you use social media a lot and this kind of data is important to you, this could be worth installing.
Yahoo Sports
Technically the Yahoo Sports app is not new as it’s been around for a while, but this particular app is a new version of the Yahoo Sports app. It covers multiple sports and lets you watch live games as well as highlight videos, read news about your favorite teams and players, and check and keep up on scores if you can’t watch the games.
PlayStation Vue Mobile
Whether you own a PlayStation 3 or PlayStation 4 or not, the PlayStation Vue Mobile app is finally available on Android to let you stream your favorite cable TV shows without a cable subscription. You’ll still have to sign up for a package that you like from the website (or the console if you have it), but once that’s done you can watch shows on the phone anywhere there is a data connection and it has Chromecast support.
