Top 6 New Features Pokemon GO Players Demand

It didn’t take long for Pokemon GO to turn from a simple location-based mobile game into a fully-fledged global phenomenon, but Niantic Labs’ latest creation still isn’t terribly complex and some more enthusiastic players are already slowly starting to get bored with it. As numerous players have already pointed out, there isn’t much more to Pokemon GO other than acquiring pocket monsters and getting involved in endless fighting for Gyms. Due to that, many online publications decided to conduct some polls and surveys in order to find out what it is exactly that Pokemon trainers want in their new favorite game. Of course, other than bug fixes. The latest such survey conducted by Business Insider yielded some interesting results.

For starters, by far the most requested in-game feature among Pokemon GO players is the ability to battle against other people. Players put in a lot of effort into catching, evolving, and powering up their pocket monsters, so it’s no wonder they want to be rewarded for that endeavor. And what better reward than yelling “in your face” after your 2,500 CP Vaporeon single-handedly obliterates all six of your opponent’s Pokemon? The second most yearned for Pokemon GO feature is better GPS accuracy as many are getting frustrated with the fact that their Pokemon eggs are currently only registering less than half of distance they’ve actually walked with the app open. Thirdly, players from smaller towns and rural locations are advocating for more PokeStops and Gyms as those playing in large cities have a huge advantage over them due to the fact that they can always replenish their inventory by walking for a few minutes and interacting with the abundance of content in urban areas.

Interestingly enough, while trading is one of those features Niantic seemed to be focused the most during its recent Comic-Con panel, the aforementioned survey found it’s only the fourth most requested feature among Pokemon GO players. The same goes for more avatar customization options which are actually only the sixth most popular potential feature despite the fact that one would presume it’s something everybody would want. In between those two requests is the option of battling wild Pokemon which players apparently want even more than the ability to customize their avatar during their adventures.
