The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 has really been stealing the show when it comes to upcoming devices lately, supplanting a number of mid-rangers and Chinese devices to stand as the phone to wait for. Despite the high price, a large number of people seem to be waiting for this dream smartphone with bated breath. An all-new metal and glass body, UI enhancements, the debut of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor and the kind of exquisite screen that’s expected from Samsung are just a few of the things people have to look forward to when the phone drops. Now, thanks to a leaker by the handle of 23NoRi on Chinese microblogging site Weibo, we get yet another look at the phone in the wild, and it’s quite a beauty.
The Black Onyx version is on display, and true to its name, it looks like somebody picked a sliver of volcanic rock and liberally applied brushed metal, with that signature Samsung display sitting in the center, then added a slot for an S-Pen as a finishing touch. Aside from being seriously drool-inducing for fans of Samsung’s newer designs, the Galaxy Note 7 leak seems to confirm a number of rumors that had been floating around about the device. The wide array of slots on the front looks to host multiple cameras, with room enough for a flash or even an infrared blaster, which would give some more credence to reports that the phone will come with an iris scanner.
The Edge display is also on show, along with a glimpse at the glass back, thanks to some slightly angled side shots. The device appears reminiscent of a larger Galaxy S7 Edge, but with the extra front panel features, a few tweaks to the sides, such as the placement of the antenna lines, and of course, the iconic S-Pen. Rumors of a brand new UI aren’t confirmed or denied here, with the lock screen being the only part of the software on display, and looking much like the Galaxy S7 family’s lock screen. Between the striking looks, reportedly amazing internals, and the new Grace UI, the Galaxy Note 7 is shaping up to be the device to watch. Samsung is all set to announce it officially on August the 2nd.
