Dropbox has just released the beta version of their brand new application called ‘Paper‘ which is aimed at helping teams of people stay productive with any of their work-related tasks. Since the beta version is now live, Android users will be able to download and install the app from the Play Store. Although it is worth mentioning that since this is a beta, features and content are always subject to change as the app progresses and continues to be updated, so it’s always good to keep an open mind that some features may or may not stick around. Whether or not things are removed is ultimately up to the Dropbox team and will likely depend on some user feedback.
To use the app you’ll need to link your Dropbox account, and if you have Dropbox installed on your device already and are logged into it, Dropbox Paper Beta will automatically populate your account in the selection field upon opening up the app and attempting to log in. Having said that, users will still need to sign up for the Dropbox Paper Beta if they want to use it even though the app can be installed.
With Dropbox Paper Beta users will be able to collaborate on documents with team members as well as see any incoming notifications from collaborators. Notifications include any comments, shares, or @mentions on virtually anything that’s being worked on and shared with others, and Paper keeps them in all in one list so that things stay more organized and easy to find. Users can also post their own comments as well, and doc creation and editing can be done fairly simply on the go with Paper in hand. The app also allows uses to pin documents so they show up at the top of the list, so if there are a number of docs that are more important than others, listing them as favorites to pin them to the top will be a surefire way to keep them in mind at all times. In addition this makes it so that you can access them on any device which gives Paper a nice cross-platform usability.
