BLU (Bold Like Us) has recently teased their upcoming flagship smartphone called the PURE XR through a post on the company’s Facebook page, and they’re all set to launch the device this month as the teaser states that it will be launching on August 29th and will cost consumers an affordable $299. That price puts it firmly in the mid-range camp among other devices of comparable cost, and it apparently comes with 4GB of RAM that, at least in this particular area of the specs, puts it on par with other high-end flagship devices that were released so far this year.
The $299 price tag as well as the 4GB of RAM solidify this as a more capable offering from BLU compared to their $99 4G Studio Touch which was announced back at the end of July, clearly displaying that BLU is targeting a different part of the market with this new PURE XR device. While BLU does give away the RAM and the price details of their upcoming phone, they fail to mention any other specifications for the device, although this is by design as they aim to release that information on August 29th when they have the official announcement, so there will still be a couple of weeks before the full details of the phone are made public.
Along with the teaser post BLU has put up an image of the phone that displays the front, which showcases that it has a front-facing camera, as well as the earpiece of the phone which means it’s likely that the speakers are placed elsewhere, potentially on the back of the device or on the bottom where the charging port is probably located. There is also a front home button that sits just under the display, although this is likely more than just a home button and could house an integrated fingerprint sensor to be used for unlocking the device and authorizing mobile payments. You can also see that BLU has opted to use capacitive buttons on the device, presumably for the recents key and the back button. Judging by the image the device appears to be black, and given the time frame of the launch as well as the version of software running on the 4G Studio Touch, the PURE XR is likely running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.
