Frozen Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Dropped From 100 Feet

Samsung introduced its latest flagship smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, a few weeks back and it has since been released in multiple markets around the world. The Galaxy Note 7 was a device of many firsts, such as the inclusion of an iris scanner, and the first phone to sport Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection around the phone. Also, the device happens to be water resistant as it has an IP68 rating meaning your device will be able to stay submerged in up to 5 feet of water for up to 30 minutes. However, with an IP68 rating and Gorilla Glass 5 protection, will the Galaxy Note 7 be able to be come out unscathed after being frozen in a block of ice and being dropped from 100 feet? Well, YouTube channel GizmoSlip decided to test it out.

The guys over at GizmoSlip took a Galaxy Note 7 and placed it into a bowl, proceeding to fill the bowl with tap water and placed it in a freezer. After 6 hours, the device was checked on but the water wasn’t fully frozen. However, the display of the Galaxy Note 7 was still lighted up. It was checked on once again after 23 hours and the water in the bowl was fully frozen. The host then took the bowl up to the rooftop of a 100 feet building and proceeded to drop the ice with the Galaxy Note 7 fully encased in it. The result? The ice smashed into many pieces on the concrete floor below but the Galaxy Note 7 managed to survive the encounter. Surprisingly, the impact did not even leave a single scratch or dent on the device. This goes to show that the Galaxy Note 7 is a pretty sturdy device, having proofed it by surviving the long freezing process and the 100 feet drop on the concrete ground.
