Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7 unveiling was held in New York this morning, and following the announcement those who attended were able to check out the new device as well as some of the new accessories that will be launched along with the phone. We were able to get some hands on time with a couple of the different cases that they had on display as well as the brand new Gear VR headset that is designed to fit the Galaxy Note 7.
The first accessory is a battery pack case that easily snaps onto the back of the Galaxy Note 7. Since the phone uses wireless charging, the cases charges the Galaxy Note 7 wirelessly meaning there is no need to carry around a charging cable. The case does offer a little bit more grip than without as the phone carries a glass back and metal frame, and it also bulks up the device a little bit although not by a whole lot. The wireless charging battery pack case will be available in Black, and so far there hasn’t been anything mentioned about alternative colors, although it wouldn’t be shocking to see it come in matching colors for the other colors of the device.
In addition to the battery pack case, Samsung had the all new S View cover to show off. The one on display that we were able to get a hold of comes in yellow, although there should also be other colors available for the S View cover as well as Samsung made multiple colors of the S View case for past devices. Similar to other S View cases, this one snaps onto the back and the right side of the phone, while the left side of the case carries the flip cover that can be closed to protect the Galaxy Note 7 screen while still allowing the user to see crucial details like time and date, as well as notifications through the S View display. Samsung also had the new Gear VR to show off which comes with the new USB Type-C connection, although Samsung will offer a USB Type-C to microUSB adapter so the new Gear VR can be used with older Samsung Galaxy devices like the Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S7 and Galax S7 Edge, and any other Galaxy device which is compatible with the older Gear VR headsets. Alongside the gallery of images below, you can also check out the video below which gives a little bit of a better look at each accessory.
