LeEco is an up-and-coming China-based smartphone manufacturer. This company has been around for quite some time, though they did not start manufacturing smartphones until April last year when the company introduced their first three handsets. That being said, LeEco had released quite a few devices thus far, and their new flagship smartphone seems to be on the way. The LeEco Le 2S had leaked several times thus far, and one of the rumors suggested that the device might be fueled by the Snapdragon 821 SoC. Well, it seems like the device just got certified by TENAA (China’s equivalent to the FCC), read on.
The LeEco LEX652 is the exact model that got certified by the TENAA, and even though we’re still not 100% sure this is the upcoming LeEco Le 2S, it certainly looks like it. This smartphone sport a metal unibody design, while a fingerprint scanner is placed on its back, right below its main camera. Speaking of the rear-facing camera, there seem to be two camera sensors available there, two 13-megapixel snappers on the back, and a single 8-megapixel shooter on the phone’s front side. Interestingly enough, TENAA reports that this phone is fueled by a deca-core processor clocked at 2.5GHz, which suggests that we’re looking at the MediaTek Helio X25 SoC here. In addition to all this, this smartphone also packs in 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes pre-installed on this smartphone with LeEco’s eUI skin on top of it. The phone measures 152.4 x 75.1 x 7.5mm, while it weighs 168 grams. The 3,900mAh battery is also a part of this package, and the device will be available in Gold, Silver, Black, Pink Gold and White color variants, if TENAA is to be believed.
As you can see, these specs are somewhat different than what we’ve seen shared in various rumors and leaks, instead of the Snapdragon 800 / 821 and 4GB of RAM, we get the Helio X25 and 3GB of RAM. Is it possible that LeEco plans to release two Le 2S models, and that this is the more affordable one? Well, anything is possible, but we won’t know for sure until this smartphone sees the light of day, so stay tuned.
