After a missed unveiling at Mobile World Congress, the Huawei MediaPad T2 10.0 Pro was launched in Italy earlier this week along with its 7-inch counterpart, as well as three new smartphones from the low-to-mid-range “Y” series; namely the Huawei Y3II, Huawei Y5II, and Huawei Y6II. Prices start at €109 for the Huawei Y3II, whereas the Huawei MediaPad T2 7.0 is available for €249.
Starting off with the new smartphone lineup, the Huawei Y3II sports a 4.5-inch display with a resolution of 854 x 480, and includes a 5-megapixel main camera coupled with a 2 MP front-facing sensor, as well as a 2,100 mAh battery. The 3G variant relies on a MediaTek MT6582M processor, whereas the model supporting 4G is powered by a MediaTek MT6735M SoC. Both variants have 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal memory, and are available in Obsidian Black, Arctic White, Rose Pink, Sky Blue, and Sand Gold colors. Moving on to the Huawei Y5II, the model at hand has a 5-inch 1280 x 720p display, and is powered by a MediaTek MT6582 CPU in the 3G variant, or an MT6735P in the model supporting 4G connectivity. Same as its smaller sibling, the Huawei Y5II sports 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal memory, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, but offers a slightly beefier 8 MP main sensor. It’s powered by a 2,200 mAh battery, and is available for purchase in the same range of colors as the Huawei Y3II. Lastly, the new smartphone series also includes a 5.5-inch HD model, namely the Huawei Y6II powered by a HiSilicon Kirin 620 octa-core SoC, 2 GB of RAM, and 16 GB of internal memory. It also incorporates a 16-megapixel main camera, an 8 MP front-facing shooter, and a larger 3,000 mAh battery. Also worth noting is that, while the Huawei Y3II and Y5II run Android 5.1 Lollipop with EMUI 3.1 on top, the Huawei Y6II runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box, covered by EMUI 4.1. The Huawei Y6II is available for €219 in Black, White, or Gold, while the Huawei Y3II and Huawei Y5II cost €109 and €149 respectively.
Moving on to the two new tablets, both the Huawei MediaPad T2 7.0 Pro and MediaPad T2 10.0 Pro feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC, 2 GB / 3 GB of RAM, 16 GB or 32 GB of on-board memory, and they both run Android 5.1 Lollipop with EMUI 3.1 on top. Otherwise, the 7-inch model sports a 13-megapixel main camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing sensor, a 4,360 mAh battery, and a fingerprint scanner. On the other hand, the Huawei MediaPad T2 10.0 Pro has an 8-megapixel main camera coupled with a 2 MP front-facing unit, and a more generous 6,660 mAh battery, but lacks fingerprint recognition technology. The 7-inch model is now available for €249, whereas the 10-inch variant has a price tag of €299.
