Huawei is now China’s largest smartphone manufacturer. According to the latest market info for H1 2016, Huawei managed to outsell OPPO, Vivo, Xiaomi and many other companies in China, including Samsung and Apple. Huawei has been growing constantly for quite some time now, and the company is going to announce some new hardware on September 1st, as part of IFA in Berlin. Huawei had already sent out invitations for the event, and many people have been wondering what will they announce during the tradeshow, read on.
The Huawei Mate S2, Mate 9 and / or the 2nd-gen Huawei Watch have been mentioned as probable devices Huawei might introduce on September 1st, but according to the latest info, the Mate S2 and Mate 9 won’t make an appearance on the said date. One of the company’s executives said that Huawei has no intention of introducing any of the two devices on September 1st, and he has also confirmed that the upcoming devices will not be from the company’s ‘Mate’ series of smartphones. Huawei’s analyst said that this handset will belong to a whole new series of devices, which suggests this might be the ‘NOVA’ device that has been mentioned recently. Now, for those of you who are wondering when will the Mate S2 and Mate 9 land, well, we still don’t know, but the company’s executive did say that Huawei plans to introduce new Mate devices in approximately two months, while he also said that the company will unveil a new version of their Android-based UI, Emotion UI (EMUI).
Now, as far as the ‘NOVA’ smartphone is concerned, we really don’t have all that much info to share with you. A recent rumor said that this handset will be made for women, and that a Chinese actress, Guan Xiaotong, will be Huawei’s ambassador for the new device, and she might even participate Huawei’s September 1st event in order to show off this smartphone to the general public. Now, interestingly enough, Huawei did announce a ‘Nova’ product back in February last year, though that was not a smartphone, but the world’s first 16nm FinFET 64-bit networking chip. These two products quite probably have nothing in common, but we’ll have to wait and see what Huawei has to say, stay tuned.
