Leak: Fitbit Charge 2 & Fitbit Flex 2 Images Surface

A new leak has surfaced today which showcases the designs for two of Fitbit’s upcoming activity trackers, the Fitbit Charge 2 and the Fitbit Flex 2, both slated to be successors to the already popular original versions of the products. Just like past versions of Fitbit’s offerings, both the Fitbit Charge 2 and the Fitbit Flex 2 will come in various color options to provide some level of personalization for consumers. Both devices also seem to take some design inspiration from the Alta with its chamfered edges and use of the silver color for the sides of the actual tracker segment. In fact, the Fitbit Charge 2 simply looks like a wider version of the Alta, although the patter on the band keeps to the form of the Charge.

When it comes to the Flex 2, Fitbit seems to have given this band a slightly more noticeable design overhaul, as it features a new sleek look with a new design pattern on the band. One major difference with the Fitbit Charge 2 which wasn’t available on the original Charge is a PurePulse Heart Rate sensor for tracking the continuous heart rate, as Fitbit offered this in the Charge HR. With the Charge 2, it’s listed that the heart rate sensor is included, so Fitbit has decided to just leave out an “HR” model of the Charge 2 altogether and integrate the sensor from the beginning.

The display on the Fitbit Charge 2 is also larger than on the previous model which will make glancing at stats all that much easier than before. Fitbit’s continuing the trend with their more affordable and more basic offer with the Flex 2, which still carries no display, although that may not matter to those who will just interact with the Fitbit companion app right after a workout anyway. One benefit over the Charge 2 that the Flex 2 appears to have is that it’s swim proof according to the image, so this means you’ll be able to wear it in the pool and that the band can be submerged in water for a specific amount of time, although for how long is not listed. There is unfortunately no information regarding pricing and availability on either of these two upcoming trackers. Fitbit recently held their Q2 earnings call meeting back in the beginning of this month where they mentioned that they were in the process of unveiling two new products before Christmas, so it’s likely that these are the two new products that were hinted at during the call.
