LG Introduces Four New 360-Degree Bluetooth Speakers

With some new phones ditching the traditional 3.5 mm headphone jack, such as the Moto Z series and, if rumors are correct, the iPhone 7, Bluetooth-enabled speakers are starting to become a more popular option. Bluetooth audio has improved a great deal in terms of quality and offers more flexibility than connecting devices with cables. There are some great options on the market already, but today, LG has announced four new Bluetooth-enabled 360-degree speakers that offer a variety of different shapes, color options, and features. The speakers, which carry the model numbers PH1, PH2, PH3, and PH4, have an option that can provide wireless sound in any situation, whether indoors or outdoors.

The PH1 doubles as a nightlight, with built-in mood lighting. The small lightweight speaker, which has a five-hour battery life, is ideal for indoor use, and can also be used as a hands-free speakerphone. For those who want a speaker that can be used outdoors, the PH2 is ideal, with a built-in strap that will allow users to attach it to different surfaces. It weighs only 167 grams and also has a longer battery life than the PH1 at six hours. It is water resistant and splash proof so it can safely be used outdoors even when it is raining. The PH3 is built with a focus on design, with a shape and lighting similar to a candle and three different color options, as well as five multicolored lighting modes. It is also built for flexibility, with an impressive ten-hour battery life. Finally, like the PH2, the PH4 is water resistant and has a built-in strap. But unlike the PH2, it has a significantly longer ten-hour battery life and delivers a richer sound due to a 16-watt amplifier and Dual Passive Radiators, which improve both quality and bass output. With the exception of the PH1, each speaker also comes with auxiliary inputs for devices that can’t use Bluetooth and support Multi Point connectivity for pairing more than one Bluetooth device at a time.

Brian Kwon, president of LG Home Entertainment Company, said: “At LG, we seek to develop products that fit the real life needs of consumers.” With a different set of features available on each model, consumers will be likely to find one that is tailored to the way they intend to use it. There are expected this fall, though there is no word yet on an official release date or how much they will cost. More details may be revealed at this year’s IFA in Berlin, where LG will have their new line of speakers on display for visitors to try out in person.
