Two Meizu-branded smartphones have been leaking out lately, the Meizu M1E and M3E. This China-based company had scheduled a press conference for August 10th (today) a while back, and they’ve confirmed via an official teaser that they will introduced the Meizu M3E smartphone. Now, based on leaks, we more or less knew that this will be a mid-range smartphone, though we did not have all the details ahead of its announcement of course. That being said, Meizu has just introduced this smartphone, let’s see what it has to offer.
The Meizu M3E is a metal unibody smartphone which resembles Meizu’s previous offerings. The mBack physical home key is available below the display, and it’s multi-functional, just like it was in the past. A physical press on this key will get you back to the home screen, while a capacitive press will trigger the back action, just like a regular capacitive back key. The Meizu M3E features a 5.5-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080, 403 PPI) IPS display, along with 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 32GB of expandable internal storage (up to 128GB via a microSD card). The device is fueled by MediaTek’s Helio P10 64-bit octa-core processor, along with the Mali-T860 GPU for graphics rendering. The 13-megapixel shooter (Sony’s IMX258 sensor, f/2.2 aperture, 5P lens, PDAF) can be found on the back of the Meizu M3E, while a 5-megapixel camera (f/2.0 aperture, 4P lens, FotoNation 2.0) is available up front. The 3,100mAh battery (+fast charging) is also a part of this package, and it is not removable.
This is a dual SIM smartphone, and it comes in 5 different colors, Gray, Silver, Gold, Blue and Rose Gold. The phone measures 153.6 x 75.8 x 7.9mm, while it weighs 172 grams. The fingerprint scanner is placed on the inside of the Meizu M3E’s home button (mTouch 2.1), and it can unlock your device incredibly fast, says Meizu. It is also worth mentioning that the Meizu M3E is not a regular Android-powered smartphone with Meizu’s Flyme skin on top of it, granted, it has Flyme OS on it, but in combination with YunOS, a forked version of Android. This smartphone was introduced in China, and chances are it won’t be released outside of Meizu’s homeland. The Meizu M3E costs 1,299 Yuan ($195) in China, in case you were wondering.
