Despite the fact we’ve seen tons of smartwatches launched in the last couple of years, smartwatches are still kind of a niche product. They’re quite popular in the tech community, but not on a larger scale, the vast majority of people will still wonder what the heck is that on your wrist when they spot a smartwatch. That being said, it doesn’t seem like smartwatches are going anywhere though, at least not anytime soon, many companies are pushing them forward, as they should, who knows what might happen in the near future to make them become instantly popular.
That being said, Polar is the latest company coming to us with a new smartwatch product. The company has just announced a new sports watch, the Polar M600. This smartwatch is sport-optimized, and the company claims that it is an ideal solution for those of you who are looking for a smartwatch for training. If you are one of those people, chances are you’ve heard of Polar already, as this is nowhere near their first product, they’ve released quite a few such devices thus far. Anyhow, the Polar M600 actually comes pre-installed with Google’s Android Wear OS, and the belonging features, of course. This watch comes with a 6-LED optical heart rate, and is waterproof. The Polar M600 also has an integrated GPS receiver, and its battery can last up to 10 hours of training time, or two days of usage time, says Polar. “Polar created the first heart rate monitor, the first activity tracker and now we’re the first true sports wearables company to announce a smartwatch truly made for sports. Powered by Android Wear, Polar M600 offers our customers countless opportunities to customize their smartwatch and still rely on the unique Polar sports wearable experience that is at its core,” said Marco Suvilaakso, Chief Strategy Officer at Polar.
The company says this smartwatch is made to be worn all day (24/7), as it tracks activity, sleep, steps, calories and provides inactivity alerts as well. The company’s ‘Polar Flow’ app will be an ideal partner for your Polar M600 smartwatch, says the company, as it will be able to provide training advice, and also track your progress without a problem. The M600 smartwatch comes with a silicone wristband which will be available in both black and white color variants, and the red band will land later this year. This smartwatch will become available all over the world in Charcoal Black and Powder White color variants later this year, and it will cost $329.90 / €349.90.
