The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 has been one of the most anticipated devices of this year, and it’s finally here. After months and months of various rumors and leaks, the Korea-based tech giant has finally introduced their new flagship phablet, the Galaxy Note 7. As expected, most of leaks the more recent leaks we’ve seen turned out to be accurate, and we’ve already covered the main announcement of the Galaxy Note 7. That being said, we’re here to take a closer look at the device’s specifications, as per usual, read on.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is made out of metal and glass, much like the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge handsets. The device also sports a curved display on its left and right side, but not the extent of the Galaxy S7 Edge, that’s for sure. This phablet sports a 5.7-inch QHD (2560 x 1440, 518ppi) Dual Edge Super AMOLED display (with Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5 on top of it), along with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 64GB of internal storage (UFS 2.0). Now, most of you will be glad to hear that you can expand upon the Galaxy Note 7’s internal storage via a microSD card (up to 256GB), as it was the case with the Galaxy S7 flagships. The Galaxy Note 7 actually comes in two SoC variants, one variant is fueled by the Exynos 8890 64-bit octa-core SoC (international variant), while the other model sports Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor (US variant). These two models ship with the Mali-T880 MP12 and Adreno 530 GPUs, respectively. On the back of the Galaxy Note 7 you’ll be able to find a 12-megapixel smart OIS ‘Dual Pixel’ camera with PDAF (f/1.7 aperture, 1.4um pixel size) and the LED flash, while there’s a 5-megapixel shooter (f/1.7 aperture) available on the phone’s front side. Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow comes pre-installed on the Galaxy Note 7, and on top of it you’ll be able to find the company’s custom UI. The 3,500mAh battery is available on the inside of the Galaxy Note 7, while fast charging is included, both wired and wireless. In case you opt for a wired charging, you’ll need to use a USB Type-C cable which comes with the device.
The Galaxy Note 7 is also equipped with IP68 certification for water and dust resistance, which is also something Samsung’s new phablet took from the two Galaxy S7 handsets. KNOX comes pre-installed on the Galaxy Note 7 as one of many software features, and also a security feature. Speaking of security, the fingerprint scanner is placed on the inside of Galaxy Note 7’s physical home button, and you also get the iris retina scanner here, which is placed above the display. 4G LTE connectivity is, of course, also a part of this package, the Galaxy Note 7 is equipped with Cat.9, Cat.10 and Cat.9 LTE, depending on your region. The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 measures 153.5 x 73.9 x 7.9mm, while it weighs 169 grams. The device comes in four color variants, Black Onyx, Silver Titanium, Gold Platinum and Blue Coral.
