If you’re an avid gamer who loves to play games on your smartphone, then you will probably love the new “GameBox Launcher” app from Samsung. Assuming you’re sporting a supported device, as it works perfectly on the Galaxy S7 Edge and Galaxy S7, but also support other devices Samsung launched since Galaxy S6 (including that handset actually), and you’re into smartphone gaming, you can download Samsung’s GameBox Launcher app to turn your smartphone into a full-fledged gaming device, well, sort of.

The GameBox Launcher app was first discovered by an XDA user, who found this launcher being listed in the Galaxy App store, and then also confirmed by several other users. The GameBox Launcher, after being installed on your smartphone, identifies all the games on your smartphone and puts them all on your home screen as big tiles, so you can easily access your favorite games right from the home screen. This launcher will also show you recommended games which you can grab directly from the Google Play Store. Samsung’s proprietary gaming features, Game Tools and Game Tuner, are also included directly in the GameBox Launcher so you don’t have to download them separately. It brings features like the ability to reduce the frame rate, blocking notifications while playing games, etc. Talking about the functionality of this launcher, the GameBox Launcher can show you all your gaming notifications in one place, to better manage your gaming activities, such as chatting with other players and gaming events. There is also a tab called “Dr.Cho’s Game Lab” which shows you the most popular games on the Google Play Store. The EA Hub is also included in this launcher, in case you were wondering. Apart from this, the GameBox Launcher also gives you an insight on how much RAM is available on your device, current battery status, and device storage, so you can know how much memory is game currently consuming or how much battery is left.

To get the GameBox Launcher app on your supported smartphone, simply head over to Galaxy Apps, and install it on your device. To make this GameBox Launcher work, go to settings -> Applications -> Default Applications and set “GameBox Launcher” as default, after which simply return back to the home screen to see GameBox Launcher in action. The GameBox Launcher also seems to be available on the Play Store as well, according to some users.
