The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is one of the most talked-about smartphones lately, and also one of the most anticipated ones. The Mi Note 2 will be Xiaomi’s new flagship phablet, and a direct successor to the two Mi Note devices which launched at the beginning of last year. The Mi Note 2 surfaced a number of times already, and pretty much every leak we’ve seen shows off the phone’s curved display. Well, a new leak that just surfaced is not much different, but it offers us a look at parts of the phone’s OS as well, read on.
You’ll notice that we’ve included four images below this article, and in those images you’ll get to see Mi Note 2’s alleged display and the device itself. Now, judging by these images, the device will basically have no side bezels, aside from its frame, and the display will be curved, similar to what we’ve seen on the Galaxy S7 Edge and Galaxy Note 7 this year. The phone’s bottom bezel seems to be really thin as well, which is always great to hear, especially considering Mi Note 2’s display won’t exactly be small. Anyhow, as you can see, this device is running Xiaomi’s MIUI OS on top of Android, MIUI 8 to be exact. The stable MIUI 8 ROM is rolling out to some Xiaomi-branded devices as we speak, and it seems like it will come pre-installed on the Mi Note 2, as we’ve expected. This is obviously the Chinese variant of MIUI 8, and thus the Chinese variant of Mi Note 2, presuming the leaked images are legit, of course.
Now, as far as specs go, the Mi Note 2 is said to arrive in more than one variant, and the highest-end variant will sport a curved display, so we’re probably looking at that model here. The Mi Note 2 (this variant) is expected to ship with a 5.5-inch or a 5.7-inch QHD display, 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 / 821 will fuel this phablet, and chances are that the phone will also include a fingerprint scanner below the display, which will double as a physical home key.
