Eight months after launching the CareTime fitness band, Alcatel is releasing a brand new series of wearables called “MOVE”. Unlike the aforementioned wearable, this new set is aimed not only at children but everyone looking to wrap a smart device around their wrist. Like its name suggest, the main idea behind this series is to appeal to consumers who are constantly on the move and are looking for a way to track their everyday activities and be more efficient. The series consists of four products: MOVETIME WiFi Watch, MOVEBAND, MOVETRACK and MOVE Track&Talk.
Alcatel describes MOVEBAND as an “active bracelet” that can track all physical activities one would expect from a fitness bracelet. In addition to that, the band also supports sleep pattern tracking and phone notifications. Alcatel claims that MOVEBAND can be fully charged in less than two hours and has announced that the wearable will be sold bundled with the company’s smartphones like the Alcatel Idol 4S. The MOVETIME WiFi Watch is basically MOVEBAND with the added ability to receive phone calls, SMS messages, and emails. Other than that, it also has a built-in heart rate monitor and an intuitive control system designed from the ground up by Alcatel.
Unlike those two, MOVETRACK is a super-light GPS tracker that weighs only 33 grams and can be hooked onto bags, coats, keychains, and all of the other objects that you keep misplacing. Alcatel even claims that the device can easily be attached to a pet, i.e. its collar. Its battery allows for up to four days of real-time tracking via a so-called Virtual Fence app that also records movement history of the tracker. Last but not least, MOVE Track&Talk is a wearable designed for parents looking to keep tabs on the whereabouts of their children. Apart from GPS, GSM, and WiFi support which allows for accurate tracking both indoors and outdoors, the Track&Talk boasts a battery life of up to four days and speed-dial feature for emergencies.
Alcatel has yet to release official pricing information on the MOVE wearables. At the moment, the TCL-owned company has only confirmed that all four devices will hit the market at the end of September. More details are expected to follow next week.
