Xiaomi had introduced two new flagship smartphones a couple of days ago, the Xiaomi Mi 5s and Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus. The Xiaomi Mi 5s is, more or less, a successor to the Mi 5, and the Mi 5s Plus is actually a phablet handset. The Mi 5s Plus’ launch actually came as a surprise for many people considering the fact that the company is planning to launch the Mi Note 2 in the coming weeks, which will be their most powerful phablet. Now, we still don’t know when exactly will this phone land, but a new rumor surfaced and it seemingly reveals the launch timeframe for the device, read on.
Now, this info comes from Pan Jiutang, a well-known China-based analyst which tends to release such details before big launches occur. Mr. Jiutang says that the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will be announced at the end of next month (October), and that it will be available in a number of color variants. That is more or less everything he said, but thanks to previous info, we more or less know what specs will this phone sport. The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is expected to sport a 5.7-inch QHD display which will be pressure sensitive, and at least one of the Mi Note 2 variants will sport a curved display on both sides, similar to the Galaxy Note 7. This phablet will be fueled by the Snapdragon 821 64-bit quad-core processor, and three RAM models have been rumored, the 4GB, 6GB and 8GB RAM variants. The base model is said to sport 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, the middle-of-the-road variant is rumored to come with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of native storage, and the most powerful model (Mi Note 2 Pro) could ship with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The 3,600mAh battery had also been mentioned recently, and Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 will also be a part of this package. Do take this info with a grain of salt considering that every piece of info listed here is based on rumors.
The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will definitely be more affordable than the competition from Samsung, HTC and LG, the base model is said to cost $399, but we’ll have to wait and see how accurate that info is. In any case, stay tuned, we’ll keep you in the loop.
