The Paris Motor Show is taking place next month – in, well, Paris. It’ll be taking place from October 1st through the 16th, and there’s bound to be a ton of big announcements from car makers at the show. However, due to it being in Paris, most of the announcements will be for models that are destined for Europe and won’t be coming to the US. A number of these models have actually already been announced or at least teased. Like the Audi A5 and the Audi Q5 to name a few.
Like at any auto show in the past year or two, Android Auto is going to be taking center stage. In fact, the Audi A5 and Audi Q5 will both be running with Android Auto inside and be available later this year. Honda is likely to announce the hatchback version of the Civic. Now the Civic already has Android Auto as well as Apple CarPlay, so it wouldn’t be too surprising to see this new model come with both at launch.
The Paris Moto Show isn’t a huge show for auto makers. There’s actually a good number of companies that are skipping out on the show this year. And with the Los Angles Auto Show taking place the month after, that shouldn’t be too surprising. Typically, the LA Auto Show has had many more big announcements and unveilings than the Paris Motor Show, and that’s likely due to where the LA Auto Show is and when its held. The first Android Auto announcements were actually at the LA Auto Show in 2014. As for the auto makers that are skipping the show next month, they include Ford, Rolls-Royce, Volvo, Mazda, Bentley and Lamborghini.
If you’re in the market for a new car, and you want it to be equipped with Android Auto, you may want to pay attention to both the Paris Motor Show and the LA Auto Show – one may be more important than the other, depending on where you live. But both are sure to have plenty of new cars announced that sport Android Auto. Hopefully when the LA Auto Show rolls around, we’ll have those new Android Auto enhancements that Google touted at Google I/O in May.
