If you happen to be an Android device owner and a Chase customer, then this week seems to be a pretty good week for your Chase and Android integrated life. Earlier in the week, the long-awaited news came through that Chase had finally added support for their cards to Android Pay. Or most accurately, Android Pay now includes support for Chase cards. Chase was one of the last remaining major US banks who had yet to offer any support for Android Pay and instead seemed to be keen to promote their own payment solution, Chase Pay. Although, that has now changed with Android Pay and Chase cards now finally playing nice with each other.
However, that is not the only Chase news on the horizon at the moment. As well as adding support to Android Pay, Chase is also pushing out an update to its own app, the Chase Mobile app for Android. With the update comes a number of clear improvements to how useful the app is and especially in terms of its fingerprint integration. Before, when logging in using fingerprint ID, the app was limited in its functionality. This has now changed with the changelog detailing that the update includes the ability to pay for or transfer funds when logged in using the fingerprint sensor. This means you will no longer have to also re-enter your password to make the payments or transfer money. There are a number of other improvements as well, with the changelog noting that Chase QuickPay payments can now be made/received much faster (“between Chase and select banks”), a greater degree of credit card transaction monitoring, and the ability to explore auto loans and mortgage options all from within the app.
In terms of the update, the chances are probably high that you have already seen the update arrive on your device as the Google Play Store app listing does list this current updated version as September 2 and the update does already seem to be hitting devices. If you have yet to try the app out and would like to, head over to the Google Play Store to download the app.
