We’re still waiting for Google to officially unveil its next two Pixel phones – Pixel and Pixel XL – but the new Pixel Launcher has already been available for download as of last Monday. So, why not enjoy some of the numerous new wallpapers and backgrounds that it offers? For those unfamiliar, the Pixel Launcher handles wallpapers a bit differently to the way we’re used to as it has a special wallpaper app that offers a lot of information about each individual wallpaper including the author and location of the photo as well as a link to Google Maps which takes you to the place the photo was taken.
If that sounds like your cup of tea, click on the Mega link below in order to download the new Wallpapers app and Google Pixel Launcher. Naturally, the former won’t work without the latter. Once everything’s said and installed, long-press the home button on your device and tap on the “Wallpapers” option. Note that the way Pixel Launcher does things may be more complicated than a simple image gallery but it’s not without its advantages. Namely, the app boasts a constantly curated online collection of wonderful wallpapers and a super convenient Daily Wallpaper feature. It’s possible that this app will be available on other launchers as well in some unspecified future but as things stand right now, it’s exclusively available as a built-in function of the Pixel Launcher.

In related news, Google is expected to officially announce Pixel and Pixel XL on October 4th and has just started teasing the phones’ camera capabilities on its new promotional website. The Pixel XL is rumored to feature 4GB of RAM and the Snapdragon 820 system-on-chip while recent reports suggest that the 32GB model will have a $649 price tag.
