Earlier today, Google had announced that they’ve renamed ‘Apps For Work’, the service is now called ‘G Suite’, as Google feels this name fits better, and will be able to ‘better reflect’ what this suite represents. Now, this is not the only change the company is making, as the Mountain View giant has also decided to launch a new, official company blog, ‘The Keyword’. Now, this new blog will essentially replace the old one (googleblog.blogspot.com). In any case, let’s see what’s going on, shall we.
As some of you might know, Google actually has more than one official blog, as they keep separate blogs for Android, Google Fiber, Chrome, Gmail, etc. Well, the company has decided it’s time to change that and use one central blog where they will release news for more or less all of their products, and the name of that blog is ‘The Keyword’. Google has also mentioned that this blog will combine content from 19 other blogs, though the company did not mention which blogs will be featured on the central ‘The Keyword’ blog. Now, not all blogs will be featured, that much we do know, at least for now. Google has 54 blogs in English out there, and even though not all of them will be united under ‘The Keyword’ blog from the get-go, it seems like that will happen at some point considering Google mentions that on The Keyword’s about page.
So, as you can see, Google is making plenty of changes lately, not only did they rebrand ‘Apps For Work’ and their central blog, but it seems like they will rebrand their Nexus smartphones soon as well. As you probably already know, the company will introduce their new devices on October 4th, and if rumors and leaks are to be believed, these new phones will be released under the ‘Pixel’ brand. Now, chances are that Google plans to talk more about ‘The Keyword’ at the aforementioned press conference, though we’ll have to wait and see what happens, of course, we’re only guessing at this point. In any case, stay tuned, we’ll let you know as soon as Google releases more info about ‘The Keyword’, and until then, feel free to check out the company’s official press release regarding their new blog (source link down below).
