If you own the NVIDIA SHIELD or any other Android TV device for that matter, a new game has now become available for you to download and check out. This one is Hotlap Heroes and as the name probably suggests, it is a racing-themed game. Although, this one is less of a serious racing game and more of a seriously chaotic racing game.
As this is a racing game, it is one which can be played in solo fashion or with friends thanks to the included multiplayer support for up to 8 players. If you don’t have eight controllers handy to make use of the full multiplayer functionality, do not worry. As well as being able to download this game, you can also download the corresponding free Android app, Hotlap Heroes: Controller, which turns tablets and smartphones into controllers. So there really is no reason as to why the whole family cannot get involved with this one. In total there are five circuits on offer and the app listing does note that more will be added in due course. So the game should become even more varied as time goes on and new updates are rolled out.
In terms of the current version though, it does seem as though the newly added support is primarily for owners of the NVIDIA SHIELD, although the Google Play Store listing is showing support for additional Android TV devices, including both consoles and TVs equipped with Android TV. So depending on which Android TV device you are using, you will want to need to head over to the Google Play Store to check its compatibility. If you do own the NVIDIA SHIELD, the game should already be showing up for you in the SHIELD Hub, as well as on Google Play. This is not a free game though as it currently does cost $3.99 to download. Although that does seem to be the final cost with no further IAPs included.
