HTC Unveils Desire 10 Lifestyle & Desire 10 Pro Handsets

The HTC 10 is a truly compelling smartphone, and the company’s flagship for 2016. This handset was announced earlier this year, and even though it might not be the best-selling flagship smartphone out there, it’s certainly one of the best smartphones currently available. That being said, the company has been teasing the arrival of their new Desire-branded devices for quite some time now, and HTC had recently confirmed that the event will be held on September 20th. Well, the company has just introduced their new ‘Desire’ offerings, so let’s see what the company has to offer this time around.

As expected, HTC has introduced the Desire 10 Lifestyle and Desire 10 Pro smartphones. As you can guess, based on their names, the ‘Pro’ variant is somewhat more powerful, but let’s start by talking about the Desire 10 Lifestyle, shall we. First and foremost, it is worth noting that these two devices look almost identical in terms of the design, they do sport completely different internals though. The Desire 10 Lifestyle comes with a 5.5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) Super LCD display, along with 2GB / 3GB of RAM and 16GB / 32GB of expandable internal storage. The device is fueled by the Snapdragon 400 32-bit quad-core SoC running at 1.6GHz, and the Adreno 306 GPU. The 13-megapixel BSI camera (f/2.2 aperture) is placed on the back of this phone, and a 5-megapixel BSI (sensor) snapper (f/2.8 aperture) is located on the front side of this device. The 2,700mAh battery (fast charging included) is also a part of the Desire 10 Lifestyle package, and same can be said about Android 6.0 Marshmallow which comes pre-installed here. The HTC Desire 10 Lifestyle measures 156.9 x 76.9 x 7.7mm, in case you were wondering.

The HTC Desire 10 Pro, on the other hand, features a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) IPS display, 3GB / 4GB of RAM and 32GB / 64GB of expandable storage. This phone is fueled by MediaTek’s Helio P10 64-bit octa-core processor running at 2.0GHz, while the Mali-T860 GPU is here for graphics rendering. The 20-megapixel BSI sensor (f/2.2 aperture) can be found on the back of the phone, along with the laser autofocus. The 13-megapixel BSI shooter (f/2.2 aperture) is located on the front side of this smartphone, and a 3,000mAh battery (+fast charging, 7.5W charger) comes with this phone as well. Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes out of the box on the HTC Desire 10 Pro as well, and this smartphone measures 156.5 x 76 x 7.86mm, while it weighs 165 grams. The HTC Desire 10 Pro, unlike its sibling, sports a rear-facing fingerprint scanner, as you can see in the provided images.

Both of these devices are made out of polycarbonate (plastic), though there are metal accents available around the phone, as you can see in the provided images. The two new Desire smartphones come in Black, White, Navy Blue and Baby Blue color variants. These two smartphones will be available in a number of regions, though the company is aiming mainly towards Europe. The Desire 10 Lifestyle is expected to cost less than €300, while the Desire 10 Pro will come with a somewhat higher price tag. The more affordable Desire model will go on sale later this month, while the ‘Pro’ variant won’t be available until November.
