In June of this year during Lenovo Tech World 2016, Motorola announced its latest flagship device, the Moto Z. The Moto Z happens to be a modular device which allows users to attach various accessories called Moto Mods, to the device which will give it added functionality. The latest Moto Mod happens to be the Hasselblad True Zoom, which can be attached to a Moto Z to offer up to 10x optical zoom. The Moto Z line which consists of three models at the moment, namely the Moto Z, Moto Z Play and Moto Z Force, is available for purchase in a few regions around the world at the moment, and it seems like the trio of devices will be available in India soon.
According to the Executive Director Mobile Business Group of Lenovo India, Sudhin Mathur has mentioned that the company is planning to launch eight devices in the country during the festive season. Out of those eight devices, six have already been officially announced by the company, this includes the Moto Z. However, Mathur declined to comment regarding the timeline of the launch of the Moto Z in the country, though sources have stated that the device will likely be available during the first or second week of October, which is less than a month away. For those who didn’t already know, Motorola was bought from Google by Lenovo back in 2014 for $2.9 billion.
If you would like recap on the specs of the Moto Z, read on. The Moto Z sports a 5.5-inch Quad HD AMOLED display, and it is powered by the Snapdragon 820 System-on-Chip. Under the hood, it comes equipped with 4 GB of RAM which is mated to either 32 GB or 64 GB of internal storage, and can be expanded up to 2 TB via a microSD card slot. As for optics, the device packs a 13MP rear facing shooter and comes with features such as Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and laser autofocus, while the front packs a 5MP shooter. A 2,600 mAh non-removable battery which supports fast charging via the USB Type-C port, can be found on the inside of this device. On the software side of things, the Moto Z runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box.
