LG V20's Worldwide Availability, South Korea First In Line

LG has just introduced their V20 handset, the company’s latest flagship phablet. LG has introduced this smartphone today, as a successor to the LG V10 which was introduced last year. This phablet sports two displays on the front, just like its predecessor, and it’s made out of metal. Now, this phablet also comes with a removable back, and a removable battery, while it has a lot to offer in the camera department. That being said, we already have some LG V20 coverage on the site, including the main announcement of this smartphone and its specs, and we’re here to talk about LG V20’s global availability, read on.

LG has introduced the LG V20 in San Francisco, and as part of that announcement, the company shared partial availability info for their new phablet. The company basically said that the V20 will become available in South Korea starting this month, followed by other regions. In addition to this, the company said that other markets and launch dates will be announced locally in the following weeks, while they did not mention any specifics. So there you have it, LG really did not give out all that many details regarding V20’s availability, but we do know that the device will become available later this month in Korea, we still don’t know if other regions will follow before the end of September or perhaps in October, it all depends on when exactly (release day) will the device roll out in Korea. Now, according to the latest report, Google’s Nexus / Pixel smartphones will get announced on October 4th, and if that report is accurate, the LG V20 will not only be the first smartphone that was announced with Android 7.0 Nougat, but also be the first smartphone to ship with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box to consumers (at least in Korea), even before Google’s new Nexus / Pixel smartphones.

The LG V20 sports a 5.7-inch QHD display, while the secondary ‘ticker’ display is placed above it, and functions as a separate panel. The phone is fueled by the Snapdragon 820 SoC, and comes with a 3,200mAh removable battery. The 16 and 8-megapixel camera sensors can be found on the back of the LG V20, while a 5-megapixel snapper lies up front. Android 7.0 Nougat comes pre-installed on the LG V20, and this is the first smartphone to be announced with this version of Android out of the box. The LG V20 also packs in 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable internal storage.
