Another day and another opportunity for Turing to tout and try and sell you a smartphone that in all honestly, will never be available. Last week, the company behind the Turing Phone unveiled their latest project dubbed the ‘Turing Phone Cadenza’. A smartphone where the specs literally have to be read to be believed. While that phone in itself will likely take an age to become available and will likely require the research and resources of all of the smartphone market OEMs combined, Turing has also weirdly announced another unbelievable device that you can (not) expect to pick up sometime in the (not so) near future. Meet the Turing Monolith Chaconne.
With the Turing Phone Cadenza largely expected to be the best smartphone ever created, you might be wondering why Turing needs to make another smartphone, let alone at the same time. This is a good question and one we cannot really answer. However, if the crazy specs of the Turing Phone Cadenza does not float your boat then maybe the Turing Monolith Chaconne and its naming based on the fact that “monoliths are long-lived and reliable machines able to survive for millions of years buried in the ground or in space with no apparent damage” will. Presumably, this means the Turing Monolith Chaconne will be an indestructible smartphone.
Whether or not it is eternally indestructible does actually matter, as the specs on offer will likely remain relevant for the rest of time. To sum up what the Turing Monolith Chaconne offers, this is a smartphone which comes packing a 6.4-inch 4K (3840 x 2160) display. Inside, the Turing Monolith Chaconne comes with not one, and not two, but three, 6GB RAMs, meaning 18GB is on offer. Likewise, the Turing Monolith Chaconne is powered by not one, and not two, but three Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 processors. Storage comes in the form of three 256GB internal storage drives and two 256GB-supported microSD card slots. Which means in total you will have 1.2TB of storage available. Which is good news as the camera images will be taken by a 60-megapixel iMax 6K Quad Rear camera with Triplet lenses and a 20-megapixel Dual Front camera.
While most smartphones will probably come with these features by the year 2060, there is all the other features which take the Turing Monolith Chaconne to the next level. Like its Triple Power Source 3,600 mAh Graphene Supercapacitor Battery with a 2400 mAh Li-Ion Hydrogen Fuel Cell. As well as its Swordfish OS which places a big emphasis on its deep learning abilities and its Graphene Oxide Composite. While this does seem like a bit of a fictional device, Turing has been good enough to provide the hands-on images that you can see above and below. While the smartphone is clearly very close to the finished product, Turing has yet to provide details on its availability or pricing. Although, we suspect it should be available sometime in October and likely priced around $350.
