Xiaomi and Meizu are very well-known companies in tech circles. These two companies are based in China, and are best known for manufacturing affordable, and yet really compelling smartphones. Xiaomi is quite probably more popular than Meizu, as it is still a larger company and more people have certainly heard about them, but Meizu had grown quite a bit over the last couple of years, and is (slowly, but surely) becoming a force to be reckoned with in China. That being said, these two companies have just introduced new products, and we’re not looking at new smartphones this time around, read on.
Meizu releases mostly smartphones, though the company also tends to announce a pair of earphones / headphones from time to time. Well, Meizu has just introduced a backpack. This backpack sports a really simple design, and is made out of wear-resistant canvas. There are a total of 9 compartments available here, so this backpack offers you plenty of space to store all of your tech gadgets, including laptops, smartphones, power banks, cables… you name it. To top it all off, this backpack is actually waterproof, which is great to hear, you won’t have to worry about your tech if you find yourself outside and it starts raining. This backpack is priced at 199 Yuan ($30), and if you purchase it alongside the newly-announced Meizu M3 Max, you’ll get it for 169 Yuan ($25). The backpack has been introduced in light gray color variant only, and we doubt Meizu will intro any additional colors, but who knows.
Xiaomi, on the other hand, has opted to introduce a lightweight jacket. Xiaomi, unlike Meizu, is no stranger to releasing odd equipment, the company had introduced smart rice cooker, smart scale… and a number of other gadgets in the past. Xiaomi’s new jacket is not exactly high-tech, but it seems to be quite interesting nonetheless. This jacket was introduced under Xiaomi’s crowdfunding platform (90 Points), and it’s called ‘90 Minutes’. The company says that the jacket is unisex, and costs 229 Yuan ($35). The jacket is windproof and water repellent (on the outside), while its padding will keep you warm. The company ensures us that this jacket has been manufactured using high-quality materials, the outer coating is made from DuPont Teflon fabric, and the YKK zipper can hold your earphones’ cable. The jacket comes in small, medium, large, extra large and extra-extra large sizes, while a number of color variants are available as well. This jacket will become available in October, but you can already register on Xiaomi’s Mi platform website if you want to get one (and you live in China).
