One of the new and exciting field to be emerging of late is that of robotics and in particular, the robot vacuum scene. Of the options available, Neato does have some very nice options already on the market, like the Neato Botvac Connected. Although, these are not the most affordable of products with the Botvac Connected retailing for around the $699 figure. That said, Neato does have a more affordable option in the form of the Botvac D80/85 models which come in at $499. If that is still a little too pricey, then it looks like Neato has today announced the launch of an even more affordable Botvac.
Today at IFA, Neato Robotics announced the launch of two new robot vacuums, the Neato Botvac D3 Connected and the Botvac D5 Connected. Both models look to offer consumers a similar experience to what they might get from the already-existing models, albeit on a slightly lesser scale. The Neato Botvac D3 Connected comes equipped with the company’s SLAM-based laser navigation, CornerClever technology, super powerful suction, as well as making use of the same Neato D-shape and design you will find in use with the other options. In contrast, the Neato Botvac D5 Connected is a little pricier than the D3 Connected, but does come with some additional features (like a ‘FindMe’ function and a greater degree of dashboard controls through the corresponding Android app), as well as a higher-capacity battery for a longer usage-duration between charges.
In terms of the pricing, the Neato Botvac D3 Connected is easily the most affordable of the range as this one will be available priced at only $399. In contrast, the Botvac D5 Connected comes in at $599 and is more in line with the already existing Botvac model, although still more affordable than the flagship model, the Botvac Connected. In term of availability, Neato has confirmed that interested buyers will be able to pick up either of the two new models in the US or Europe from early October. The two units will also become available in China and Japan although no specific time-frame was provided for the China or Japan availability, other than later in 2016.
