WhatsApp is one of the most popular messaging applications out there. This app has been downloaded over a billion times from the Google Play Store, and that number is constantly growing. As most of you know, WhatsApp is now owned by Facebook, and the app has been getting constant updates over the last couple of months. The company had updated the beta version of this app earlier this month and added quite a few new features along with the update, including image drawing, gestures, etc. Well, it seems like the beta version of WhatsApp just got yet another update, read on.
WhatsApp beta has been updated to v2.16.274, and as part of that update, the company has included new widgets. Now, this might sound good at first, but if you’re not a fan of iOS 10, you’ll hate this update. WhatsApp beta now contains iOS 10 emojis, a set of emojis that look kinda 3D in terms of the design. Now, in addition to a different design of these emojis, the company has also added a number of new gender choices, there are now male and female cops available, for example, and also new family emojis which show off LGBT parents. New sport-related emojis are now available, and so on, there are tons of new stuff to go through here in the emoji department. Now, do keep in mind that if you’re using WhatsApp, you have no choice but to use these emojis as soon as you update to this version of the app, no matter what emojis you’re currently using on your keyboard.
Those of you who like iOS 10 emojis will certainly like this update as well, while the rest of you will probably hate it. Now, there’s a slight chance that these emojis will never make it to a stable version of WhatsApp on Android, a very, very slight chance. Pretty much every feature that ends up in the beta app comes to a stable version of WhatsApp sooner or later, but you can always hope that WhatsApp will take into account feedback from the community and ditch this feature sooner rather than later. In any case, stay tuned.
