Earlier today a report came through about the Samsung Galaxy Note 7. Of course, the last few days and weeks have been filled with Galaxy Note 7 reports, but this one focused on when the likely sales availability of the Galaxy Note 7 in the US will resume. In particular, the date being touted in the report is October 21. So if you have had your eye on picking up one of the newer and safer Galaxy Note 7 smartphones, then according to this report, October 21 will be the time to do so. Which is quite some time following the initial reports that expect the Galaxy Note 7 to go back on sale in South Korea as early as next week.
The information in the report came from Venture Beat and Evan Blass (aka @evleaks) although the details were said to have come by way of a ‘planning document’ which had made its way to Venture Beat. However, that was not the only worthwhile piece of information from the report. In rather subtle fashion. Blass also noted that October 21 was the date when the LG V20 is also due to go on sale in the US.
This is interesting as although the LG V20 has been announced and introduced, details on its availability (and even its price) have been anything but forthcoming. As such, there are no firm details on when the LG V20 will become available. So if the report is correct, then the LG V20 will be available in the US from October 21. Which makes for an even more interesting launch in the US as it would seem the latest flagship smartphone from LG and the relaunch of the Galaxy Note 7 are both happening in the US on the same day. A situation which is unlikely to have happened under normal circumstances, as neither company would want both of their devices to go head-to-head on launch day. Either way, if you are in the US and in the market for a new smartphone, then it looks like on October 21 you will have the choice of two major handsets, the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 and the LG V20.
