The Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are amongst the most powerful smartphones out in the market at the moment, and it will stay that way for a while. Now, these two phones were introduced back in February, and chances are Samsung will introduce their successor(s), the Galaxy S8, during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017, which means we’ll have to wait for February next year. Well, despite the fact that the Galaxy S8’s launch event is still quite a few months away, rumors already started popping up, like the one that surfaced today, read on.

A couple of months back, a rumor surfaced saying that Samsung might ditch the flat screen Galaxy S model next year, and today’s rumor re-affirms that. According to this info, Samsung might not release a flat screen model of the Galaxy S8, only the curved screen one. Now, this doesn’t exactly come as much of a surprise considering the fact Samsung introduced only the curved screen variant of the Galaxy Note 7. Now, the Galaxy S7 Edge managed to outsell the Galaxy S7 in the first half of the year, which is probably a piece of info that will interest Samsung, and might influence their final decision on whether to introduce both the flat screen and curved screen Galaxy S8 models, or not.

The Galaxy S7 Edge did outsell the Galaxy S7, but some people still prefer the more compact Galaxy S7, not only because it’s smaller, but because it’s easier to handle due to its flat display. Now, if Samsung does opt to release only a curved screen Galaxy S8 variant, we wonder if they’ll release that device in only one size, or can we expect to see a smaller and a larger Galaxy S8 variant? With the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge Samsung offered plenty of choices to its consumers, as some people prefer smaller, some larger devices, so it will be interesting to see what happens next year, though we somehow doubt the company will introduce more than one size of the Galaxy S8 if they opt to ditch the flat screen handset, even though sources claim that both the 5.1-inch and 5.5-inch curved screen models will be available. We can, of course, expect plenty more rumors and leaks regarding the Galaxy S8 in the coming months, so stay tuned.
