Meizu had introduced a number of smartphones this year, including their Meizu PRO 6 flagship. This smartphone was announced back in April, and as many of you know, the company’s PRO 7 flagship phablet has been leaking for a long time now. The Meizu PRO 6 is fueled by the Helio X25 64-bit deca-core SoC, and the rumored Meizu PRO 7 was expected to ship with the Exynos 8890. That being said, the company’s VP, Li Nan, said a while back that the Meizu PRO 7 will not launch this year, he said that we can expect that smartphone next year, and that created a lot of confusion, read on.
Samsung’s Exynos 8890 64-bit octa-core processor is currently one of the most powerful SoCs out in the market, but it won’t be that hot next year, which is why consumers were a bit worried that the Meizu PRO 7 might ship with that SoC sometime next year. Well, it is possible that the Meizu PRO 7 might ship with the next-gen Exynos SoC considering that the Meizu PRO 6s rumor surfaced a while back, and according to that rumor, this might be the company’s upcoming Exynos 8890-powered flagship. Now, this could end up being the company’s leaked smartphone with a curved display, though we cannot confirm that at the moment. That being said, a new piece of info just surfaced in China, and it brings different info our way. According to the new info, Meizu might be preparing two ‘PRO 6’ devices, the Meizu PRO 6s and PRO 6 Plus. These two smartphones are rumored to launch at the end of October, and become available in November. According to the provided info, the Meizu PRO 6s will be fueled by the Helio P20 64-bit octa-core SoC, which is MediaTek’s new mid-range processor. The Meizu PRO 6 Plus, on the other hand, could be fueled by the Exynos 8890, if this info is accurate.
There you have it, presuming this info is legit, Meizu is preparing two compelling smartphones to push our way next month. The Meizu PRO 6s will, presumably, launch with a 5.2-inch fullHD display, while the Meizu PRO 6 Plus will probably ship with a 5.7-inch fullHD or QHD panel, while you can also expect this handset to sport a curved display, much like the Vivo XPlay 5 and Galaxy S7 Edge. We’ll let you know as soon as we get more info, stay tuned.
