Samsung has lately been paying more attention to its S Health app after the tech giant decided to offer the said mobile fitness coach to all Android devices. So, shortly after introducing integration with Fitbit, Misfit, and Jawbone, Samsung rolled out another major S Health update which boasts a bunch of new content and capabilities. For starters, the app now gives its users the ability to save their failed and completed step challenges which were included in last month’s update. The records can be saved as long as you’re logged into your Samsung account while using the app.
In addition to that, the S Health app also received a security upgrade as it now supports the popular KNOX security platform which some parties believe is the best in the industry. KNOX technology can now protect your health and activity records but do note that using this solution on a rooted phone will usually void your device’s warranty. Furthermore, S Health also received some upgrades designed to turn it into a more social experience. Users are now able to send messages to their S Health buddies and block people who are sending them unwanted messages and step challenges. The changelog also notes that certain countries now have access to more health content but doesn’t elaborate on that proclamation. The developers have also stated that they’ve fixed certain known S Health bugs but didn’t go into details regarding which exact issues have been eliminated with this update. Last but not least, the fitness app also received certain user interface changes including redesigned menus and icons.
By the time you’re reading this, the S Health update version 5.1.1.0005 should already be available for download worldwide. The latest version of the app is compatible with most smartphones running Android 4.4 and newer. This content update will certainly make the already popular fitness app even more attractive to people looking for a smart fitness coach with robust features and wearable support. This April, Samsung boasted about the fact that S Health managed to reach 150 million users and industry experts expect that number will only rise by the end of the year.
