As you probably already know by now, Sony had kicked off their ‘Xperia X’ line of devices back in February during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. The company had introduced three new Xperia X smartphones during the event, and all three of them are currently available in a number of regions at the moment. That being said, the company has just introduced two new devices during IFA in Berlin, the Sony Xperia X Compact and Xperia XZ. We’ve already covered the initial announcements for these two devices, and are here to take a closer look at the specs of the Xperia X Compact, read on.
The Xperia X Compact is Sony’s new compact, mid-range smartphone. This device features a 4.6-inch 720p (1280 x 720) TRILUMINOS display with the Dynamic Contrast Enhancement. The phone is fueled by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 650 64-bit hexa-core processor, along with the Adreno 510 GPU for graphics processing. This phone packs in 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage (eMMC), which is expandable up to 256GB via a microSD card. The Xperia X Compact sports a 2,700mAh battery with Sony’s STAMINA mode, and Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging is also included in this package. If you open up the SIM card tray, you’ll get to see a single SIM slot, and you’ll need a nano SIM card in order to use it. Android 6.0 Marshmallow will come pre-installed on the Xperia X Compact, with Sony’s custom UI on top of it, of course.
The 23-megapixel shooter (1/2.3” Exmor RS sensor, 24mm wide-angle lens, 5x Clear Image zoom, IOS12800) is placed on the back of the Xperia X Compact, and it comes with the tripe image sensing technology, fast capture and the predictive hybrid autofocus. Sony’s SteadyShot with Intelligent Active Mode is also included here, as is the BIONZ mobile image processing engine. On the front side of this phone, you’ll be able to find a 5-megapixel snapper (22mm wide-angle lens, f/2.0 aperture, 1/3.06” Exmor RS sensor) for all your selfie and video call needs. Now, as far as sound is concerned, the Xperia X Compact offers high-resolution audio, LDAC codec and digital noise canceling, while Sony’s Clear Audio+ is also included here. It is also worth mentioning that stereo recording is also available here, for those of you who need it. The Xperia X Compact will become available starting September 25th, and its pricing will depend on region and carriers.
