The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 has been announced at the beginning of last month. The initial reactions to this smartphone were great, and the company started getting tons of pre-orders from the get-go. That being said, soon after the device started shipping to consumers, problems started occurring, a number of reports surfaced saying that the Galaxy Note 7 devices are exploding while charging, and it turns out that batteries are to blame. Samsung has acted fast and recalled the Galaxy Note 7, and as a consequence of this whole issue, the company’s market value dropped quite a bit.
Now, just to be clear, not all Galaxy Note 7 units that were sold are affected by such problems, but a small portion of them definitely is. Samsung is doing their best to replace the affected units as soon as they can, and the company had released an official statement yesterday, promising that new Galaxy Note 7 units will be available no later than September 21st, at least as far as the US market is concerned. Now, in order to give more depth to Samsung’s promise, the President and COO of Samsung America, Tim Baxter, actually decided to speak to the public through the camera. He basically apologizes to all consumers that were affected by the battery issue on the Galaxy Note 7, and wants you to make sure that Samsung is doing their best to earn back your trust. Mr. Baxter also said that the company has fixed the battery problem, and that new Galaxy Note 7 units are on the way for US consumers, while he also asks those of you who still did not return your Galaxy Note 7 units to do that as soon as possible, as the company wants to avoid any further accidents and make sure that their consumers are safe.
Samsung had confirmed yesterday that they’ve received 92 reports when it comes to Galaxy Note 7 battery overheating issues, and in 25 cases people got burned after the Galaxy Note 7 exploded.
