Today was quite a big day for both Xiaomi and fans of the company’s products. This China-based company had introduced two new flagship devices during the event, the Xiaomi Mi 5s and Mi 5s Plus, both of which we’ve already talked about. Having that in mind, those are not the only devices Xiaomi has introduced during the press event. The company has also announced two new smart TVs along with two new phones, two Mi TV 3s models, the 55-inch and 65-inch ones, read on.
Now, these two TVs are top of the line smart TVs, and both of them are only 9.9mm thick, not to mention that they’re made out of aluminum. Both of these TV sets are fueled by the 64-bit Amlogic T966 quad-core processor, and the Mali-T830 GPU. There are 2GB of RAM packed in each of these TVs, and also 8GB of internal storage. The 55-inch model is equipped with LG’s IPS 4K display, and Xiaomi says this display offers ‘true-to-life color details and picture quality’. The 65-inch Mi TV 3s model is equipped with Samsung’s 4K display which offers ‘vivid details and bright picture quality’. Both of these TVs have Dolby Atmos support in terms of audio quality, and also come with DTS hardware-level decoding. Now, in addition to all this, it is worth mentioning that the company has also announced the ‘Home theatre edition’ of the 65-inch Mi TV 3s, this essentially means that you’ll also get a sound bar, a sub-woofer and two 2.25-inch surround speakers as part of the package, along with the 65-inch Mi TV 3S, of course.
Now, these two smart TVs actually come with a really interesting feature, they both ship with Xiaomi’s ‘Patch Wall puzzle interface’, and according to Xiaomi, that is actually an A.I. (Artificial Intelligence) system, and the company claims these are the first TVs in the world to ship with such features. We still don’t know what exactly ‘Patch Wall puzzle interface’ is, but we will share more details as soon as we get them. Both the 55-inch and 65-inch Mi TV 3s models are also equipped with Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.0, and their displays reproduce 4K content at 60 FPS. The 55-inch Mi TV 3s model costs 3,499 ($525) Yuan, while the two 65-inch variants (regular and home theatre edition) are priced at 4,999 Yuan ($750) and 5,999 Yuan ($900), respectively.
