BLU Unveils Budget-Friendly Energy X Plus 2

BLU devices have become synonymous with being more towards the affordable side (such as with the Life One X2), and although they do offer up some devices with rather impressive specs for the cost, they are generally still more in the low-end to mid-range camp. That being said, BLU has a brand-new device that looks to be near an official launch as their website has just unveiled the Energy X Plus 2, a device with a pretty massive battery and a collection of low-end specs all for the price of around $100. According to Amazon where the phone now has a landing page but is listed as temporarily out of stock, the Energy X Plus 2 will cost $106.70 exactly, although as this is kind of an odd price for a phone that is brand-new it’s entirely possible that the cost will change and could be set firmly at $100.

While the price hovers around $100 and this in itself is not exactly out of the ordinary as there are plenty of Android devices that are offered at a low cost like this, it’s part of the hardware which makes the cost of the Energy X Plus 2 rather compelling, as it packs in a massive 4,900mAh battery, which should have no trouble keeping the device powered on throughout the day and then some, especially given that the rest of the hardware is not exactly meant for a power user who wants high-end specs, meaning that what is included likely won’t be causing some heavy battery drain.

Speaking of the specifications, the BLU Energy X Plus 2 comes equipped with a 5.5-inch HD display, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of internal storage space with support for expandable storage up to 64GB via microSD card. On the back the phone comes with an 8MP main camera while on the front it uses a 5MP sensor for the secondary camera. The Energy X Plus 2 runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box and it’s powered by a MediaTek 6580 processor which is paired with a Mali-400 GPU for the graphics processing. While most of the specs seem to be right on par with a device around this price range, where it really becomes apparent is with the network connectivity, as the Energy X Plus 2 does not support LTE. That said it does still support connectivity to 4G HSPA+ networks, as well as 3G and GSM Edge networks. Although you cannot actually hit the purchase button on Amazon just yet, the device should be available sometime soon and it comes unlocked, and in three available colors of Black, Gold, and Rose Gold.
