Steam smash hit indie game ‘I am Bread’ has made its way to the Play Store, and if you’re a fan of the games from Bossa Studios you were likely already waiting on this very moment. Then again perhaps not as it’s been available on Steam for some time and you likely would have had your fill of it by now. Of course, there’s no place like the mobile platform for reviving an instant classic, and that’s exactly what I am Bread is setting out to do here, complete with all of the wacky, toasty, butter-filled and physics-based mayhem you could ever hope to enjoy in one lifetime.
If this is your first time hearing of this wonderful game, I am Bread has one simple goal – you, as the slice of bread in this harrowing tale, need to turn yourself into toast and will need to stop at nothing to fulfill your dreams, lest you be stuck in the sad state of a regular old piece of bread for all eternity. There will be no shortage of obstacles in your way, but you are cunning, and you’ll have many means of achieving your goal to become a warm slice of toast.
Aside from having obstacles in the way of various household items, the floor, and tons of other random objects, you’ll have certain elements to watch out for like your edibility meter that sits at the top of the display, and as you traverse your adventurous landscape certain things can make you less edible. Landing on the floor, for example, is a big no no and you’ll want to avoid such a tragic event as your edibility meter will drop drastically. There are eight total levels to play through and despite seeming like an easy task, becoming toast is easier said than done. The slight challenge will potentially make for hours of fun, though, and if you like off the wall games with pretty decent graphics and a weird mix of interesting and goofy gameplay, then this is one you may want to at least give a try, even if only for the refund period. I am Bread is live now in the Play Store, and it can be picked up for $4.99, the same price as Bossa Studios’ other game on Android called Surgeon Simulator.
