Cricket Intros $50/Month Plan with 8GB of Data

Cricket has been very competitive lately, with MetroPCS, Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile. Those are the four prepaid carriers in the country. However, Cricket and MetroPCS have a leg up on the other two, since they are GSM carriers, whereas Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile are CDMA (on Sprint’s network), meaning you can’t bring just any unlocked phone over to their network. Recently, MetroPCS upped the data limit on their $50 plan. Giving users 8GB of data, to go along with unlimited talk and text. Now Cricket has decided to step up, offering the exact same plan. Giving their users unlimited talk and text along with 8GB of data. For just $50/month. The only main difference here is that Cricket throttles their data at 8Mbps, where MetroPCS does not.

Where $50 for 8GB of data already sounds pretty good, you can actually get it even lower. Like T-Mobile is doing with their T-Mobile ONE plan, Cricket allows you to save $5 off of your bill each month if you have auto-pay set up. What auto-pay does is it automatically charges your card or bank account each month. This can be helpful if you often forget to pay your bill. Not only will it save you from late charges, but you also save a few bucks each month. For those that are already on Cricket’s $50/month plan, you can upgrade to the 8GB plan without having to fork over any cash, and Cricket has all of the details at the source link below.

Cricket does have some pretty incredible plans available, whether you use a lot of data, or barely any at all. Starting at $30/month you can get 1GB of data, $40 gets you 2.5GB, $50 gets you 8GB, $60 will give you 10GB of data, and if you need unlimited, that will cost you $70. All of these plans, except for the $30/month plan, are eligible for the auto-pay credit. Which means you could actually get unlimited data for just $65/month, which is pretty incredible. And much cheaper than if you went postpaid on AT&T (where you would also need to be a DIRECTV customer to get the plan).
