Galaxy C9 Pro Is Official, Samsung's First 6GB RAM Handset

The Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro has been leaking for quite some time now. A huge leak had surfaced yesterday, revealing more or less every single aspect of this smartphone. That being said, Samsung did schedule a press conference a while back, the event was scheduled for October 21st, which is today. Well, it seems like the company has introduced this smartphone in China considering it is already listed on their official website, read on.

The Galaxy C9 Pro is yet another member of Samsung’s ‘Galaxy C’ family, a lineup of smartphones which are made for the Chinese market. Much like its predecessors, the Galaxy C9 Pro is made out of metal, and it’s actually quite powerful. Now, first and foremost, it is worth mentioning that this is the first Samsung-branded handset to ship with 6GB of RAM, which is quite interesting considering it comes with a mid-range processor. Anyhow, the Galaxy C9 Pro features a 6-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) Super AMOLED display, along with 32GB of expandable storage. The device is fueled by the Snapdragon 653 64-bit octa-core processor, along with the Adreno 510 GPU. This phone comes with two SIM card slots, and you can insert your microSD card in the second SIM card slot, in case you’d like to expand the phone’s storage. The 16-megapixel snapper (f/1.9 aperture) is placed on the back of the Galaxy C9 Pro, and a 16-megapixel shooter is placed on the front side of this smartphone as well, though we’re pretty sure this is a different sensor, inferior to the one placed on the back of the Galaxy C9 Pro.

The 4,000mAh battery is included here as well, and it is not removable. You’ll notice there’s a home button below the display, well, this is Samsung’s standard physical home key, and it packs in a fingerprint scanner. Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow comes pre-installed on the Galaxy C9 Pro, and on top of it, you’ll find Samsung’s custom UI. The device measures 162.9 x 80.7 x 6.9mm, while it weighs 185 grams. The phone comes in Gold and Rose Gold color variants, and the phone costs 3,199 Yuan ($473). We still don’t know whether Samsung plans to release this phone in other markets, but we’ll keep you posted.
