Android Auto has been available for over a year now, but it’s still fairly new. In the car industry, technology doesn’t progress as fast as you would expect in the tech industry. In fact, the new update to Android Auto that Google showcased at Google I/O earlier this year, still has not launched. Even on third-party head units – which would just need an OTA update. So while Android Auto has been around for a good little while now, it’s still got a long way to go. And it’s safe to say that most everyone that has used or is using Android Auto is an early adopter. Now, Google has a user community available for you to get any help you may need, as well as sending feedback to the Android Auto team, which is always valuable.
It’s the Android Auto User Community and it’s going to be a pretty useful tool for anyone using Android Auto. There’s also a ton of other threads already available, mostly with people needing help with one thing or another, which is exactly what this community was created for. There are Googlers in there helping users, but users are also able to help other users. It’s basically a proper forum, but on Google’s servers. It’s much like the many other product forums that Google has available for their other products.

And if you’ve never used Android Auto before, this is a great place to go to get some insight about what you’re getting into. Perhaps finding out which head unit you should buy, or even which models are supporting Android Auto right now. With the list growing each and every month, there are loads of options available for those looking to buy a new car with Android Auto, or just pick up an after-market head unit.
