Google loves to introduce new products and services, and to that end they have introduced a couple of new products to the Google Store today, which includes the Michael Kors Access Dylan watch and the Polar M600 sports watch, as well as the Google Pixel and Pixel XL and Google Home that have been up on the Google Store for the past couple of weeks. Google also takes things away, as they have just dropped a few products from the Google Store earlier this afternoon just as quickly as they put up others. This shouldn’t be too much of a shock, as Google consistently cycles through new products and they tend to remove older items that may end up having replacements.
With all that said, you can no longer purchase the ASUS ZenWatch 2 or the Casio Smart Outdoor Watch from the Google Store. The links to their landing pages on the site are now dead. While there is no mention of a new watch from Casio at the moment, ASUS has the ZenWatch 3 on the way, and it’s quite likely that Google plans on selling it. While removing the ZenWatch 2 doesn’t necessarily mean they’re trying to make room for something new that’s right around the corner, it is interesting to think about, and the launch of the ZenWatch 3 shouldn’t be too far from now.
Alongside the two smartwatches that Google has removed, another product from ASUS, the ASUS Chromebook Flip, is also no longer available for purchase from the Google Store, but as opposed to getting a replacement it’s likely that it was just its time to go now that there are newer products out there which have recently launched. The good news for anyone still wanting either of these three devices is that it’s more than likely possible to get a hold of them elsewhere even if they have been discontinued from Google’s own storefront. While not available just yet, the Google Store does have listings for Nixon’s The Mission smartwatch as well as start kit of Philips Hue Color A19 lights, and the Chromecast Ultra as well as Google Wifi should be available down the line as well.
