One of the biggest elections in recent memory is slated to go down on November 8th. With Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump going at it pretty fiercely in the last few weeks of the presidential campaign, and the deadline to register to vote now over with. The attention is now on the ballot and where users can vote. And Google is here to help. Google has already had a number of cards available in their search engine for the election. Showing when the election is, who’s running and so forth. Now the company is taking it a step further.
There are now two new cards that appear. You can search for “where to vote” and Google will tell you the nearest polling place. Now this is based on the location of the device, so it may not necessarily be your polling place. The other is “who’s on my ballot”, so you can see who and what you’re voting for before you get to the polling place. Of course, the one race that everyone in the US will be voting for is the president of the United States. But the other races will differ by State, City and even district.
Adding this into Google Search is a great idea by Google, and it’ll help users be more aware of what they are voting for, even ahead of the election. Additionally, some cities allow you to vote early, and the card will also let you know whether or not your city will allow you to vote early or note. As an example, Washington, D.C. allows you to vote between October 22nd and November 4th. It’s a great way to show who’s running, without being biased about it, as well. The cards break down based on the national elections, State and local elections.
If you have an absentee ballot, remember that those need to be mailed back pretty soon. Otherwise, everyone else will need to head to the polls on November 8th to select the next President of the United States of America. Check out Google’s homepage for these new cards, and to find out who’s on your ballot.
