Among the two smartphones which LeEco announced at their US launch event today was the mid-tier Le S3. This is a device which has the same size display as the Le Pro3 (which was also announced during the US event and which we also have hands-on images for), as well as he same screen resolution at Full HD, yet it comes in at a smaller price tag due to the nature of the lower-powered hardware specifications such as the processor and RAM amount, and just like with the Le Pro3, the device will be available to consumers at a discounted price though the instant rebate, making the Le S3 available to order for $149 for a limited time before bumping back up to $249.
Beyond the Le S3’s screen which is the same display used on the Le Pro3, the device has one additional available color for purchase, which is a Rose Gold. it also comes in the Gold and Grey colors that you can find on LeEco’s Le Pro3. Instead of using a Snapdragon 821 CPU inside, LeEco opted to bring the cost down by integrating a Snapdragon 652 chipset, which comes paired with 3GB of RAM instead of 4GB. It also comes in at half the storage space as the Le Pro3 with 32GB instead of 64GB, and the battery is smaller as well, offering a battery with 3,000mAh, as opposed to the 4,070mAh.
All of these factors do help to drive the price of the phone down making it an incredible value, and in light of that it’s still able to offer consumers a compelling experience though capable hardware, and a mostly up to date software experience as the phone is running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with LeEco’s eUI v5.6 on top. Not only is the Le S3 a new smartphone that is set to offer people a great user experience, it’s also part of LeEco’s vision for a more connected experience, which includes LeEco’s recently announced LeEco Live streaming service that launches early next year. Utilizing the Le S3, users can easily watch content through LeEco Live on the phone, and then seamlessly toss the video content up onto a compatible LeEco smart TV.
