Google had introduced the Google Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones during their press event in San Francisco yesterday. These two smartphones are the first Pixel-branded phones released by Google, and as many of you know by now, Pixel is the new name for the company’s Nexus brand, while Google is taking a different approach this time around. We’ve talked about the Google Pixel and Pixel XL at length already, and more coverage is on the way. That being said, we’ve already reported that the two devices will be available for pre-order in India on October 13th, and now we have all the pricing info as well, read on.
It was announced earlier that the pricing for the Pixel devices will start at Rs. 57,000 ($856) in India, but we didn’t have all the pricing info back then. Well, now we know that the 32GB and 128GB Google Pixel devices will cost Rs. 57,000 ($856) and Rs. 66,000 ($992) in India, while the two Google Pixel XL models will set you back Rs. 67,000 ($1,007) and Rs. 76,000 ($1,142) in the country. Do keep in mind that only the Quite Black and Very Silver color variants will be available in India, and you’ll be able to pre-order one starting October 13th from Flipkart, Chrome, Reliance Digital… and through some other retailers. That is pretty much it as far as pricing and availability go, the devices will become available soon, so stay tuned.
These two smartphones are identical in terms of the design, though they’re different in terms of size. The Google Pixel sports a 5-inch fullHD AMOLED panel, while the Google Pixel XL comes with a 5.5-inch QHD AMOLED display. The two devices also pack in different batteries, but are basically identical aside from that. These two phones are fueled by the Snapdragon 821 64-bit quad-core SoC, and they ship with a 12.3-megapixel snapper on the back. Android 7.1 Nougat comes pre-installed on both devices, and you’ll also notice that a rear-facing fingerprint scanner is included here. It’s also worth mentioning that both of these devices come with fast charging capabilities, and that they sport the Type-C USB port on the bottom, as expected.
