Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship phablet has been surfacing on the internet for quite some time now, just last week we saw this device in multiple color variants, and now some leaked photos that are allegedly of this upcoming phablet have emerged on the web showcasing some pretty slim bezels.
The alleged images of the Xiaomi Mi 2 Note have shown up on the Chinese micro-blogging site, Weibo, just recently and from what can be seen in the images, it looks like the upcoming Mi Note 2 device might come with ultra-thin bezels, but what is more surprising is that the front facing camera, ambient light sensor and earpiece are nowhere to be found above the screen of the device. As you can see in the images below, the device in question has very thin bezels while the upper top portion, which usually houses the camera and sensor is entirely omitted. That being said, the validity of any of these leaked images cannot be confirmed and it’s possible that the pictures could be of a completely new device that is still in development at Xiaomi. Unfortunately, the leaked images don’t provide any other information.
As for the specifications of the Mi Note 2, thanks to the previous leaks, it’s thought that this upcoming device will pack a 5.7-inch QHD AMOLED display with a resolution of a 2560 × 1440. It’s rumored to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 64-bit quad-core CPU along with an Adreno 530 GPU. Two vertically placed camera are also expected to sit on the back of the device along with a dual-tone LED flashlight – as seen in the previous leak. The device is also expected to pack 6GB of RAM and could come in multiple storage variants just like previous Xiaomi devices, while on the software side, you can expect the device to come with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with MIUI 8 on top but chances are it could also come running the latest version of Android, Android 7.0 Nougat, out of the box. As for the pricing, according to a recent rumor, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 could end up costing around 4000 yuan ($600) and the device is expected to launch by the end of this month.
