Another day, another Moto M leak. This time around, we get to see images of what’s said to be the retail box of Motorola’s upcoming mid-range smartphone. Of course, this is definitely not the first time that images of the Moto M has been leaked online. In fact some of the earlier leaks have also given us a fair indication about the key hardware specs of the device. This leak, however, only gives us a little sneak peek at the retail box of the Moto M and the home screen of what looks like the stock launcher on the device. What we do get to see from one of the images, however, is that the phone will support 4G LTE+, while the Lenovo logo is also visible on one corner of the box.
As mentioned already, the Moto M has been leaking out pretty consistently in recent times. The device is said to be an upcoming mid-ranger that will reportedly be accompanied by a more premium handset called the Moto M Plus. As for the Moto M, the device is expected to feature a 5.5-inch 1080p display panel with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. The device is expected to be powered by the MediaTek MT6755 SoC, which comes with an integrated Mali-T860 MP2 GPU and a 64-bit octa-core CPU clocked at a max frequency of 2.1GHz. The device is also said to come with 4GB of RAM and either 32GB or 64GB of internal storage, depending on the variant.
As for the cameras, the rear-facing primary shooter on the Moto M is expected to be a 16-megapixel unit, while the front-facing selfie-cam is said to come with an 8-megapixel sensor. The device is believed to weigh about 163 grams and should be around 8mm in thickness if the rumors hold up. Lenovo is expected to offer the Moto M in two different color options: Gold and Silver. As for the tentative launch date, some unconfirmed rumors seem to suggest that Lenovo may unveil the device this December itself. It remains to be seen if the Moto M will eventually make its way to the U.S. and other developed markets, but China and other developing economies in the region are rumored to get it either later this year or in early 2017.
